This was a freebie on the Kindle. There is a story here somewhere, I just can't find it. The sheer scope of the text crammed pages make reading this not only challenging, but daunting as well. Not to mention the author seems to have a problem with Investment Bankers, apparently they are used as fuel for a star-ship or something.

There is something to be said for editorial services, an excellent editor with infinite patience might get a story out of this somewhere. I was intrigued by the book's description and I don't say "No" to free books very often. I am always willing to give something a try. It is not that the book is hard to read, it isn't, it is that the story is hard to follow or find while sifting through the massive amounts of information you are given in the first 10pages (3%) of the book. The rest of the book is just gobbledygook after "15%" I just gave up and threw in the towel, because I just didn't care any more. If you are a glutton for punishment or enjoy shifting through mounds of crap for a single sentence that leads the story (I still couldn't find one) forward, more power to you, but this was not the book for me, and there are far better Sci-Fi authors that have tackled satirical space.

Greegs Ladders An Incredible Journey Through Space And Time edition by Zack Mitchell Danny Mendlow Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews

This book is not "like" Hitchhiker's Guide, it merely steals a few jokes from it. The remainder of the jokes are very shallow and the author adds insult by actually explaining some of them as if they weren't so trivial they were actually unfunny. And every chapter uses twice the words it needs. The author makes up names for things and then never uses then again, just to make the chapters longer(?). It's not the "blahbah treaty"; it's the "blahbah treaty signed at blechblech meeting in the bukbuk system" and none of the made up words is every mentioned again, nor do they add anything to the "humor".
The cover or title of this book must attract bitter curmudgeons with no sense of humor, judging by the handful of poor reviews. This was a delight to read. Written in the spirit of Douglas Adams, this light-hearted story of interplanetary adventure is certainly worth a few laughs. My only gripe is the seemingly random nature of the solutions to the millions of problems that arise, and the lack of 'cost' the main characters pay for their good actions. No good deed goes unpunished. That being said, these two complaints are also the source of the carefree humor inherent in the story. Read on!

P.S. to the author, I loved the narrator reveal in the middle.
I wouldn't say this is a favorite for me, but it is entertaining, full of random characters and twists - some things you find out to not be so random as you'd think...

The authors sure have a fertile imagination, I liked the book enough to keep reading until the end. It's interesting that this kind of book is actually carrying a message buried throughout the story, with different situations, developments and characters that seem to remind the reader to think about humanity, the world we live in and what our future could look like, if only in a cartoonishly exaggerated way of putting it.

If you like absurdly comedic science fiction and adventure, random stuff happening, and some message beneath, then you'll find this worthy.
I'm trying to be charitable, but I'm afraid there is a good reason for this book's low scores. Many of the puns are real groaners. The book isn't terrible, and a couple of ideas are unique, but I'm afraid this was written for the benefit of the author who does not like governments or bureaucracies.
The idea was intriguing but it turned out to be a disappointing mix of Aesop and Adams. The writing was pedestrian and too obvious. If Dr. Seuss wrote a "Sneetches" book aimed at adults but with no rhyme, it would be this. Slogged my way through the first chapter and gave up. I was really sad, I was hoping for something wonderful...
Once you get past the painfully drawn out beginning, the book is entertaining enough to finish. The author has a good imagination and demonstrates the ability to loosely tie elements together to create an understandable social commentary - within a very vast "nonsensical" universe. However, this is not near the level of the Hitchhiker's Guide. . .

This is potentially worth checking out to follow the progression of Z. Mitchell as a writer. Though this particular book isn't going to win any awards, with an editor, and a movement away from the over-the-top juvenile humor, the author could produce something worth reading.
I downloaded this book expecting a some what humorous read. Alas, I was doomed to disappointment. I couldn't wade through the entire book and eventually had to give it up as a lost cause.
